We are pleased to be the first ever feature for Music at the Lake in Lake Cowichan, a new monthly concert series. The series began last month with an entire open stage evening and it was so successful that they've had to move to a larger venue. (Visit our Gigs page for more info.)
It's wonderful to see a community that is so supportive of live music. Lake Cowichan also has a new community radio station "The Lake" CICV 98.7 FM. Music at the Lake concerts will be recorded live and broadcast later on CICV so folks can enjoy the concerts after the fact as well.

A new year and new beginnings for us. We’ve recently moved into a Nanaimo South End character home owned by a very good friend. Now that the chaos of moving is over we are getting back to focusing on our music. We are currently in the process of writing new material for the follow up album to “Rooted”. The next release will be entitled “Jingle in the Pot”.
Emily and Merisa have taken on a part time job at Bellezza Bath and Beauty to help out the owner, Tina (of Tina’s Diner), as she can’t be in two places at once. As a result, Trinitude now performs at Tina’s Diner on Sundays from 11-1. Les is now doing electronic, amp and guitar repairs, and Tiffany is currently training as a doula. The life of a musician can be very hectic at times!
2010 gigs are set to commence in February, the first one of the month being the Qualicum Acoustic Café hosted by Joyce & John Beaton on Feb 5th.

Trinitude hosts New Year’s Eve with Martin Nolan
Looking for something different and exciting to do on New Year’s Eve? Trinitude is pleased and honoured to announce that they will be hosting a live recording event to usher in the New Year. Renowned uilleann piper, Martin Nolan, will entertain a small and private audience with a diverse assortment of enchanting jigs, reels and aires. Some are traditional tunes, while others are original compositions, but in either case Nolan presents them with understated Irish charm and superb musicianship.
Nolan hails from Dublin, Ireland and his live performances have been described as "energetic affairs full of great playing, good tunes and cheerful Irish humor" (The Canberra Times - Australia). The concert will be recorded and filmed in front of the live audience so this is your opportunity to be part of the experience.
The concert will commence at 7pm and will run until around 9:30pm. Suggested donation is $15 per person. Following the concert there will be an after party for those who want to ring in the New Year. This event is potluck: finger foods, snacks and beverages of choice. If you are planning to partake of alcoholic beverages, please bring a D.D. Seating is limited so please reserve early.
